NOW

Now.

Yesterday seems a moment away.
Tomorrow a stone flung away.
A bus journey and a bright blue sky
is all I need, dry eyes,
free of crust and rust around diminishing sight.
Yesterday reminds me of this moment
sleepless interludes of soft sound murmurs’
A rumpled body and an empty bed.
Tomorrows  is just a few more words away,
A swishing curtain , a cloudless light.
Yet inside I’m glad that, now, is neither today or tomorrow
Just a grimace of dry cheeks,
a blink away and only a light switch away I fall into bed.
